About The Choir
Junior Choir Accompanist ~ Annie Kwok
Music has always been an important part of Annie’s life, ever since her primary school music teacher took her to Yamaha lessons after the her first day at school. She started piano lessons when she was 5 years old, trumpet during her secondary years and has sung in school choirs all her life.
Annie completed her Bachelor of Music in 2001 and a Graduate Bachelor of Education in Secondary Arts in 2004. Career highlights for Annie include working as one of 3 key accompanists for the Public Primary Schools Festival of Music (2000 - 2004), working as an accompanist and tutor for Young Adelaide Voices (2000 - present) and her current position of classroom teacher at Brighton Secondary School, a Special Interest Music school in South Australia (2004 - present). She teaches classroom music to Years 8-12 and is the conductor of the award-winning Treble Troupers and Chamber Gals. She has composed and arranged several pieces for her ensembles and was the inaugural winner of the Gondwana Voices Composition Award in 2006 with her piece, “Waking Dreamer”. Annie was part of the Gondwana National Choral School artistic team in 2006 and 2009.
Annie is excited to be part of the Young Adelaide Voices team for 2009!
